School Resource Officer

The Kingsport Police Department, in conjunction with the city school system, previously provided one School Resource Officers (SRO) to Dobyns-Bennett High School and John Sevier Middle School. Beginning in January of 2007, a third School Resource Officer was added to Ross N. Robinson Middle School. In early 2010 another SRO was added to Dobyns-Bennett High School for a total of four SROs. The SROs for Dobyns-Bennett High School handled 105 investigations in 2009. The SRO for Sevier handled 12 investigations and Robinson handled 24 investigations in 2009.
